PGP Encrypted Blackberry: Perfect Solution for Securing Your Mobile Data

No comments :
PGP, formally known as pretty good privacy, is actually a decryption and data encryption computer program that offers cryptographic privacy and authentication of data communication. This program is used for the purpose of signing, encrypting, decrypting texts, files, emails, directories and the complete disk partitions. It also serves one more important purpose which is to secure the e-mail communication between two ends. Besides this, if we consider its design, this software makes use of serial combination of data compression, hashing, public key cryptography and finally symmetric key cryptography.  All these steps are assisted by the support of some specific algorithms.

While originally this system was used for just few operations but with certain advancements, this technology was introduced in the blackberry cell phones. These were designed to allow the PGP Encrypted BlackBerry email and pin messages to be sent from the phone. However, to use this service, you phone needs to have an access to a recipients PGP key. In case, the key already exists, then message will be sent without any error.

One main thing to remember is that your blackberry must be enrolled for the universal server and configured for lightweight directory access protocol i.e. LDAP servers. Hence, if you wish for such a service to be offered for your berry phone, then you must contact the service providers who can help you to get the same for your phone. No one will be able to access  your personal details or any information stored on your cell.
